Pre Easter Fun

Today was our huge and amazing ward Easter Egg Hunt (I am the ward activities leader, can't you tell?!!!!) We started our morning doing this:

,

Charlie was pretty funny, he would pick an egg up, open it, take a bite of the candy, chuck the candy, and then start the process again. Abby on the other hand was on a mission! She seriously was RUNNING from egg to egg. Shocker!

This is what we did in the middle of the day:

We make sure to have arts and crafts time with Abby every day. Decorating egg took it to a whole new level. I tell you the girl was serious about this project.

And sadly, this was the end of our day!

Amazing that the bowl did not break when Charlie pulled it off of the table full of eggs.

More to follow tomorrow.

Hope you and your loved ones are having a fun and safe Easter! When I take a break from all these pagan traditions I am going to reflect of the resurrection of our Savior. This time of year I feel joy not only that it is warming up outside and Georgia is once again getting green, I feel joy because Jesus lives! And because of him I too will have the opportunity to live with my Father in Heaven again someday! Life is so great, isn't it?

I have proof my kids are still alive

I was just downloading 3 months of pictures from my memory card onto my computer when I realized I have not been sharing these gems with my blogging fans.

Charlie loves playing outside, especially in the car. I know, I know, his hair is a bit long. Don't worry, he got a mommy haircut. Might we a few weeks before you see any updated pictures of him! (you know, to let it grow a bit!)

Last summer Grandma Sandy let Abby pick flowers, a habit I have not broken yet!

Teaching Abby the art of self photos. I am sure I put makeup on that day, who know where is went!

When Carlos got home from his hunting trip, Charlie helped him unpack. He was especially excited about the big gloves!

On Monday we all wore green. I was teaching Abby to say Happy St. Patrick's Day, but that was a mouth-full, so we shortened it to Happy Green Day. She asked me if the next day could be Happy Pink Day. WHY NOT!

And me. I think I have recovered from the many diseases we have had in this house. I am even sporting a new dew. Don't I look exactly like Katie Holmes? I thought so too!!!!

"No man knows how bad he is till he has tried very hard to be good. A silly idea is current that good people do not know what temptation means. This is an obvious lie. Only those who try to resist temptation know how strong it is. After all, you find out the strength of the German army by fighting it, not by giving in. You find out the strength of a wind by trying to walk against it, not by lying down. A man who gives in to temptation after five minutes simply does not know what it would have been like an hour later. That is why bad people, in one sense, know very little about badness. They have lived a sheltered life by always giving in. We never find out the strength of the evil impulse inside us until we try to fight it: and Christ, because He was the only man who never yielded to temptation, is also the only man who knows to the full what temptation means - the only complete realist." C.S. Lewis

Color Correction

A couple of weeks ago I asked my adoring public for help. I think it was because of my short deadline that you all were of NO HELP, and I went ahead and picked Loyal Blue as my dining room color. Look at the disastrous results:

All I can say is . . . gooooooo cougars! WHAT WAS I THINKING???? I think it was the flu bug messing with my mind.

So, Carlos went snow goose hunting in Arkansas this weekend (what a redneck!!!!!) I decided to play "While you were out." So after I put the kids to bed and night I taped and painted. After several coats of paint I think this is much better!

I mentioned that I had to tape and paint at night because this is what happened when I tried to tape during the day. But look at that face, how could I possibly be mad!

If you cannot see, Charlie took a pencil to the wall.

As a follow up to the painting story, when Carlos got home last night he walked past the dining room at least 10 times and did not even notice the DRASTIC color change. When he took the trash out to the curb he noticed the paint can I stashed in the garage. It was then he asked me if I painted anything. I lost it at that point because he was standing in front of the dining room as he asked. He was delighted with the change, and is even up for the challenge of all the touch up work!

Go for Green!

Years ago when Carlos and I were just dating we traveled down to Orlando to meet his family. It was a great trip, and his family was so warm, fun and friendly. I did however notice something about the Gonzalez's. . . they love all things green! Their house was a shade of green. They drove green cars. The room I stayed in had green carpet, and was painted just days before I got their from green to yellow. At that time Carlos drove a green car so I started to joke with him about Gonzalez's loving the color green.

The love of the color must come with the name. Many of you have asked for a photo of the new Gonzalez homestead. This house was built as a spec home. When Carlos asked me to pick colors for it I gave him two options. One was in the gray family and the other in the brown. He picked the grey, but somehow when it got up on the house it looks GREEN! So yes, we are once again in a green house. And we love it because we are GONZALEZ'S!

Logos

Any one want to put together some logos for our companies:

Hilltop Homes
and
Shenandoah Landscaping

I know I know, I do marketing. But my strength is the broad strokes, not really logos. We need really easy simple logos for these two companies. I have a feeling we have some really talented friends out there, or at least friends who know talented friends.

If we use your logo, I will even send you a logo'ed t-shirt! Imagine the satisfaction of knowing your work would be displayed all over the Southern Atlanta area!

Love at Home

Good news, I found the carpet. Yes, this house does have nice flooring that we have barely seen this week!

Tonight after dinner Carlos turned cartoons on for the kids. When I walked by Abby was cuddling with her brother. It was a really sweet rare moment. I ran to find the camera, but by the time I got back the cuteness was over. I did snap these photos anyway.

Charlie not looking so pleased.

Here is their compromise. . .

And once the boy noticed that I had the camera out, he decided to ham it up. Sure do love that kid!
