That Moment

Yesterday I had one of those moments when I realized the world is exactly right. One of those moments of pure joy. I was watching our 10 month old Charlie (who cannot walk on his own quite yet) pushing his 2.5 year old sister in the wagon. I was smiling so big that my cheek's hurt. Take a look at what I am talking about. . .

This and That

Nothing huge to report from Newnan.

Today the kids and I went to the zoo. We have taken Abby to the zoo a couple of other times, but I think she was just too young to enjoy the outing. This time she got it, and LOVED it. Unfortunately my camera died before I was able to get any good shots of her. I did snap a few at the petting zoo where Abby was able to brush a few goats.

Charlie found his Latin roots last week. He loved his dinner of beans and rice with a side of platinos. No baby food for this kid!

This kid makes me smile

Pictures for no other reason but to show off how cute this kids is! Plus I have noticed that he has not gotten his fair air-time on the blog. These photos were taken today during lunch.

Pretty Pretty Princess

Last fall Mama Virginia (Papa Carlos's mother) visited from El Salvador. This was her first visit to this country, and her first time on an airplane. I have two lasting memories for that visit.

1. I realized that no matter how hard I fought it, my son was going to be named Carlos. I did not understand a word the woman said, but I did pick up on the fact that she continually referred to the baby in my belly as Carlitos. The pressure was thick!

2. That all little girls in El Salvador must be princesses. Mama V had a dress made for Abby before her visit. It was really big for Abby back then, so I hung the dress in the back of the closet. This week Abby found where I was hiding it. . . and this morning insisted on wearing the gift. I cannot tell you how many comments we got today on her pretty pretty princess dress. Abby could not have been more pleased!

ps. on another topic: the garden that Abby and I planted this spring, although struggling in the Georgia heat, is producing a steady stream of tomatoes. Abby loves check on the garden every day. She is quite proud.

Opening day

I'm quite sure most of you are not aware that today is opening day for deer hunting with a bow. My sweet gentle husband decided a couple of years ago he was going to take up the hunting. Really surprised at this announcement I reminded him again of my disdain of guns. . . so bow hunting was his only choice. I figured what are the chances that he will really kill ANYTHING with a bow and arrow???? Well I could not be more wrong! Last month we finally cleared the last of the venison out of the freezer, just in time to fill it up with the deer that Carlos killed today. lucky us. Anyone want some venison??????
