Today

Today started out with so much promise. We woke up early to start our Christmas decorating. The kids were really excited!

Bad picture, but two really happy kids.

Abby wanted to help put the star on top.

And if Abby did it, Charlie wanted to do it also!

Here is the finished product.

But this is where our story takes a turn for the worse. Notice the very beautiful but HEAVY stocking holders on top of the mantle. Well, our Charlie decided to take a tug on the snowman stocking held up with the letter "Y". Of course the stocking holder went tumbling, and hit the bridge of his nose. . . OUCH! :(

He took it like a CHAMP, but it looks aweful! This is about 30 mins after the incident. Yep, that is still a smile.

Doesn't that look ouchie?

Here he is tonight before going to bed. The photos just don't capture how swollen and icky it looks.

And after a tough afternoon, he found his smile for the camera tonight.

We had that SAME thing happen to the Beast a couple of years ago. We now keep the stockings laid by the tree with care. *giggle* Yay for your little man for taking it like such a champ.

That last photo is hilarious--totally beaten up, yet as happy as can be! Glad it didn't poke his eye out or something.

Beautiful tree! That's how we spent our Sunday morning as well.

I cannot wait for morning church so I can get my afternoon nap in. This year has been a LONG one.

The same thing happened with Kate. Last year I bought stocking hangers that spelled out peace. (I was counting on someday having another kid...good forestight on my part buying "peace" instead on "noel") So, Kate pulled the "a" down and it hit her in the forehead. She had a little goose-egg but now it is just a small scab. Now our stockings are gone until I can find a more secure way to hange them.---Cute pics of the kids.

Of course that happened at my house last year, too. Those things should come with a warning! Poor Charlie, but even all black and blue, he's still absolutely adorable!
